The authors present briefly the basic terms from the sphere of microeconomics of the healthservices uncountered commonly by private physicians and managers of health facilities.Attention is devoted in particular to the definition of material and working resources of theorganisation and care of managers as regards the rational use of these resources, to problemsof costs and profits and funding of organisations. The article is the introduction to more detailedstudies of economics of health facilities. A health facility is conceived as a firm with a specificcharacter.
