Overview
Using computers and the Internet affects the lives of modern humans in many ways. This also applies to substance abuse. However, the increasing availability of the Internet is a reality that must be taken into account. The Internet also provides someoptions for prevention and early intervention. Yet it seems thatcurrently the use of the Internet outweigh the risk factors. The aim of parents, educators and health professionals should therefore minimize the risk of the Internet and vice versa maximize its benefits.
Key words:
Internet, risk factors, addictive substances, gambling, promotion, prevention, treatment.
