Overview

The paper briefly defines consequentialism and deontologism as one of the fundamental ethical principles with regard to Burrtness consequentialism concept with an emphasis on consequences and their application (not only) in medical ethics. It deals with the creation of codes of ethic and their practical usage in the light of the above- mentioned approaches - consequentialism and deontologism. Article points out the pros and cons of each above mentioned ethical approaches and their impact on the establishment and functioning of codes of ethics (not only) in the context of medical ethics. Through the issue of ethical codes also affects the topic paternalistic and partnership between doctor and patient.
