Overview
The article gives an overview of current methods of interventional cardiology.
First part deals with ischemic heart disease, coronary angiography and heart catheterization with basic information about percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) and clinical indications for PCI.
Second part summarize catheter-based valve therapies including transcatheter aortic valve implantation and catheter closure of various heart defects with cardiac shunts.
