Overview
Through Holter ECG long–term monitoring we investigated 28 patients suffering from metabolic syndrome and critical limb ischemia. Only 6 (22 %) of them had normal Holter ECG records, without ischemia or arrhythmias. All of the remainder had arrhythmias and/or episodes of ischemia. This data highlights the high cardiovascular risk of possible perioperative complications, and lends further weight to the need for consistent diagnosis using cardiovascular functional diagnostic methods. Holter ECG long–term monitoring provides us with important data, which enables this risk to be reduced.
Key words:
Holter ECG long-term monitoring, metabolic syndrome, critical limb ischemia, cardiac arrhythmias and ischemia.
