Authors summarize in the submitted article the latest knowledge about the role of apoptosis in the pathogenesisof some neurologic disorders in childhood. The first part of the publication is dedicated to apoptosis and itscharacteristics. Then the role of apoptosis in the pathogenesis of perinatal brain damage, neural tube defects andtraumatic brain damage is mentioned.
