Overview
The complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a less frequent but an important complication in the wound treatment and it is a potential cause of disability and prolonged healing. The paper deals with the etiology, it describes diagnostic and therapeutical algorithms and it emphasizes the urgency to commence an early and complex treatment. Our paper includes the case report of a patient with CRPS that developed during the treatment of a defect after an amputation of one finger in the upper extremity.
Key words:
complex regional pain syndrome, wound healing, edema
