Medicine in Olomouc During the ten-year period (1990-1999) at the Clinic of Occupational Medicine in Olomouc 29 workers exposed to the risk of dust from flax or cotton esere examined for suspected occupational diseases of the airways. As occupational diseases seven cases of bronchial asthma esere notified incl. two cases combined with allergic rhinitis. All affected subjects worked with cotton. There was also one tase of occupational disease on account of byssinosis. Exogenous allergic alveolitis was not detected during the investigation period
