Overview
The malabsorption syndrome includes all states in which there appear disorders in the digestion and absorption of basic nutrients and consequently disease due to a deficiency of those substances. Its occurrence is relatively frequent in children and adolescents. A review is presented on the etiology, pathogenesis, differential diagnostics and treatment of such states in children and adolescents taking into consideration the present trends in pediatrics.
