Overview
Baromedicine is an overlooked discipline although some of our hospitals have experience withthe medical application of hyperbaric oxygen for over 35 years already. The Decree of theMinistry of Health No. 101/2002 Dig. i.a. presents a list of healthcare operations with a pointscoring for hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This treatment remains continuously underrated andunderexploited even in cases when all other means are failing. Pressure chambers have veryinteresting applications also in various other human activities in which one gets into conditionsof high or low ambient pressure. Contact healthcare addresses are presented in a review oftherapeutic pressure chambers on the territory of the Czech Republic.
