Overview
The aim of this work is to provide informations on current radiological imaging methods used in diagnosis and treatment of diabetic foot and its complications. Noninvasive methods are used: X-ray image, ultrasonography, CT scan, MR-imaging, scintigraphy, PET/CT scan. Invasive methods: angiography (DSA), percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA), laser setting, the introduction of drug-eluting balloons and stents, biodegradable stents. It is important to minimize the risk of nephrogenic systemic fibrosis. The effectiveness of endovascular intervention is comparable to surgical revascularization procedures, in severe and polymorbid patients we prefer it because of fewer complications.
Key words:
blood vessels – diabetic foot – endovascular intervention – imaging methods
