The incidence of invasive carcinoma of the cervix in the Czech Republic is higher than in Western Europe. The ohly effective test for early discovery of the precancerous lesions is cytodiagnostics - „PAP" smears. The study pointa to preventing mistakes in the cytodiagnostic process and stresses quality control according to the International Academy of Cytology (LA.C.) and the European Federation of Cytological Societies (E.F.C.S.).
