Overview
The article reviews some of the sports-associated dermatoses, which could be encountered in dermatologists practice. These skin lesions form a large and etiologically diverse group. The authors review the most common skin changes, according to particular sports activities, etiopathology, clinical characteristics and therapeutical possibilities. Up-to-date classification into mechanical dermatoses, dermatoses caused by environmental factors, skin infections and immune reactions with skin manifestation is used, with reference to literature. Especially, the mechanical and infectious skin diseases, because of their frequent appearance, are discussed more in detail.
Key words:
dermatoses – sport – sports medicine – skin infections – mechanical skin injuries
