The article discusses selected aspects in the philosophy of cardiac care in relation to ontological, gnoseological and axiological issues. Philosophical perspectives in care are integrated in a general philosophical framework and the heart archetype is mentioned as an illustration of intersections between medical and philosophical enquiry.
