Overview
Pregnancy means for the couple great life change, in most cases including their intimacy. Most of the available studies agree in decrease in sexual activity and increase in sexual dysfunctions, mainly in the third trimester. Women need to talk about sexuality with healthcare providers, problem is to open the topic by themselves. Doctors should actively open topic about the sexuality in pregnancy, minimally the awareness, that sexual activity is safe for healthy pregnant women. If there is a need for more in deep talk, it´s necessary to give enough time and place for the whole couple, or send them to a specialized center.
Key words:
pregnancy – sexual dysfunctions – sexuality
