Overview
A complex evaluation of working environment factors is presently underestimated in spite of the fact that only this kind of evaluation can provide objective results. Negative factors exerting effects on human organism simultaneously may cause a synergic effect and the organism response on individually innocuous values of factors can be accelerated when acting together. The analysis of clinical symptoms of noise and vibration was done on the basis of data from medical preventive examinations. The entry criterion for eligibility into the group was the work at the risk for the period of at least 5 years. A group of 37 patients were selected (36 men, one woman) who have been working in production of high exposure to noise and vibration. The mean age of the patient was 63.49 years and the mean duration of exposure in patients with acknowledged occupational disease No.38 “Disorder of haring from noise” was almost 30.43 years and in patients with acknowledged occupational disease No. 28 “Disease from vibration” or the “Disease from long-term excessive and unilateral extremity load – repetitive strain injury” was 25.97 years on the average.
The problem of the synergy in clinical symptoms of the effects of noise and vibration on human health with productions of their high intensity was analyzed according to Pareto (ABC) analysis. Pareto analysis represents one of the most effective and easily applied decision statistical methods, which makes it possible to separate the principal (vitally important) causes of the problems from the less important (insignificant) causes. Pareto analysis is often called 80/20 indicating the fact that 80 percent of problems are caused by only 20 cases. It is important to realize that this problem of evaluation is a complicated one and there are obviously many approaches to the solution. The procedure of evaluation of clinical symptoms presented in this contribution describes the author’s idea of the possibility of a single solution out of many available ones to solve the problem. The outlined results are based on previous experience of the authors in the area.
Key words:
