Cílem studie bylo představit metodu monitoringu 24hodinového pohybového chování z hlediska jeho intenzity typu a postury a následně analyzovat data z pilotního měření pohybového chování u seniorů v období pandemie COVID-19. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 102 samostatně žijících mužů a žen (70,14 ± 5,22 roku). Pohybové chování bylo monitorováno pomocí tří akcelerometrů umístěných na odlišných částech těla (stehnu, zápěstí a pase). Souvislosti mezi proměnnými byly ověřeny pomocí analýzy rozptylu a kompoziční analýzy.
24hodinový profil pohybového chování se i v době pandemických restrikcí významně lišil mezi seniory s rozdílnou hodnotou indexu tělesné hmotnosti. U obézních seniorů, na rozdíl od seniorů s normálním hodnotou indexu tělesné hmotnosti, bylo navýšeno sedavé chování a naopak snížena pohybová aktivita střední až vysoké intenzity (p = 0,025). Významná spojitost byla nalezena mezi nárůstem času stráveného sedavým chováním a poklesem času věnovaného pohybu a rizikem obezity u českých seniorů.
Vzhledem ke komplexnímu popisu pohybového chování může být tato metoda využita pro monitorování pohybového chování specifických skupin obyvatel a následné naplánování pohybových intervencí.
