Overview

Author reflects differences between roles of medical specialist and general practitioner. General practitioner has a wide range of knowledge to be able to guide his patient in specialised medicine. She is custodian and mentor in issues of health, social-health and personal nature. He has also preventive and education roles. So the essential part of his work is concern and care. Care needs different philosophical foundation that traditional medical ethics. Common basis represents professionalism. Concern and care are the matter of attitude. It encompasses willingness to help and interest in the other, which aims to understanding. To the care ethics belongs the question of motivation. The motivation for care for others could be the search for meaning because care for others integrated in the life schedule gives meaning. Of course, general practitioner deserves sufficient economic provision. Real pleasure and the sense of full realisation she can have when she become aware that she cares for ill and healthy well.
