Overview
Stress is a phenomenon that affects nearly all of society, and its occurrence in the field of medicine is significantly frequent. This phenomenon occurs as early as in the early stages of medical studies, because medical students have to withstand many demands, not only regarding their studies. Long-term stress affects not only mental health, it also affects physical aspects of the person, their interaction with the surroundings, people, patients, and it makes an impact on the ultimate core of the person, on their self-realization. A medical practitioner can prevent many stress-inducing situations by good self-cognition, realizing his or her limits and aptitudes. A medical practitioner’s personal qualities and attitudes and commitments to the job play an important role in dealing with stressful situations.
