Overview
The epidemic of nicotine dependence presents serious problem of contemporary medicine and public health. The most effective approach to treatment of nicotine dependence is combination of pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy. Pharmacotherapy has its own advertising campaign due to producers and we have enough information about this approach. On the other side we know very little information about psychotherapy of nicotine dependence and its effective and systematic application is often rather exception. The article describes basic constructs of Transtheoretical model of behavioral changes and its application on sample of smokers. The aim of present study is to introduce an integration psychotherapy approach to treatment of nicotine dependence.
