Summary:
MTA (mineral trioxide aggregate) is currently considered to be the most suitableroot canal filling material, capable to create a hermetic barrier between the tooth and thesurrounding tissues. MTA is being recommended particularly for the technique of direct pulpcapping in the event of injury, in case of vital dental pulp amputation, for the one-visitapexification procedure, for the retrograde root canal filling, in case of root fractures and inendodontic treatment of root canal perforations caused during treatment or due to the resorptionprocess.
