Overview
Guided tissue regeneration is based on the biological concept that states theability of recolonization of root surface by the cells of remaining parodontium and restorationof parodontal structures if parodontal cells (desmodonts) are preferred during healing periodof parodontal lesion. The effect is achieved by the insertion of physical barrier (membrane)below mukoperiostal flap and above treated parodontal defect and tooth root. In the paperpresented, the application of newly-combined biomaterials (distributed as Perio-System Com-bi-Pack) is described. The biomaterials consist of a special collagen membrane Bio-Gide-Perioand enclosed paper pre-shapes that make the choice and formation of membrane shapesrequired for coverage of different types of parodontal defects easier. Another part of the systemis an osseoconductive material Bio-Oss-Collagen. Combination of the above-mentioned mate-rials facilitates surgical treatment and regeneration of parodontal tissues.
