Overview
I chronologically list the developments at three cardiac surgery departments in Prague, Brno and Bratislava since the 1950s. I deal in detail with the first heart transplant in 1968 in Bratislava and with the success of doctors at the IKEM in Prague sixteen years later. Finally, I present the current state of cardiac transplantation at all the workplaces.
