Overview
The author discusses the basic principles of remedial rehabilitation and physiotherapy after total endoprostheses of the hip and knee joint. He defines the importance of preoperative preparation of the locomotor systém in patients with comorbidities. He emphasizes some methods facilitating the restoration of muscular strength and mobility (e. g. mechanical stimulation, electrostimulation, irradiation during activation of the synergic muscle group, passive movement, PNF). The importance of continual passive movement (motosplint) is critically evaluated. The author analyzes the pathological stereotype of gait and indicates ways of reeducation of locomotion. Functional evaluation for TEP is submitted.
