Overview

The authors assessed before and during whole-body baths in mineral water in Dudince spa duringthe 5 th , 10 th , 15 th and 20 st minute the skin temperature of the chest, shoulder, thigh and dorsum ofthe foot. Furthermore they measured the sublingual temperature, heart rate, systolic and diastolicblood pressure. From the data they calculated the mean skin and body temperature and also thedouble product. The measurements were made at a water temperature of 35, 36 and 37 °C.It was revealed that a whole-body mineral water bath in Dudince with a water temperature of 35, 36and 37 °C causes a significant rise of the skin temperature, the mean skin temperature, the meanbody temperature and leads to a significant drop of the systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Thedrop of the sublingual temperature is significant only at a bath temperature of 35 °C. The heart rateincreases but the increase is significant only at bath temperatures of 36 and 37 °C. The doubleproduct declines but the decline is significant only at bath temperatures of 35 °C.

Key words:
