Overview
30-year-old woman was treated repeatedly with radioiodine for the papillary thyroid carcinoma, with the foci of patologic accumulation in skull. Consequently the patient underwent neurosurgical intervention, the lesions were histologically evaluated as haemangiomas. Considering the decrease of thyroglobulin level to negative values, there was iniciated re-assessment of the histological finding, that confirmed presence of thyroid carcinoma metastases. Therapy of bone metastases is problematic in general, it needs multidisciplinary approach.
Key Words:
thyroid carcinoma, radioiodine, bone metastasis
