The physician, scientist and Moravian – associated professor Jan Lang MD died 105 years ago

Overview

This year we will commemorate 105 years since the death of associate professor Jan Lang MD, an assistant at the Czech Otological Clinic, professor Emilian Kaufmann, later professor Otakar Kutvirt, significantly established himself in the field of Czech otology and vestibulology at the beginning of the 20^th century. He was also the author of the first Czech scientific works on the bacteriology of the ear. As a native Moravian, he was destined to establish ENT clinic in Brno and develop this field in Moravia. Unfortunately, his fate did not allow him to do it and, like many others, he was forgotten during the end of the First World War and the formation of the first Czechoslovak Republic.
