Overview
In April 2017, the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic issued a Guideline on Spiritual Care in Bedside Medical Facilities of Medical Service Providers. Through this document, the ministry established the much-needed framework for the operation of hospital chaplains in medical facilities, including the conditions for their activities, and defined some terms such as spiritual care, chaplains, etc. Although this is an important initiative on the part of the ministry, the guideline does not cover a number of aspects of spiritual care in bedside medical facilities and will need some specification and completion.
