Overview
A new revolution technology that may become promissing for research, diagnostics and therapy enters into biologyand medicine. The basic idea of the biochip technology is to convert the chemistry of life into a static formprogrammed to monitor genes, proteins and relations between them. Biochip programmed by known sequences ofDNA/RNA or proteins can recognized the real genes, mutations, levels of expresion,... Biochip technology is highlyeffective method that allows monitoring of thousands of genes/alleles at a time in computerized automatic operationswith minimal volumes of necessary reagents. Biochips promise an important shift in molecular biology, DNAdiagnostics, pharmacology, research in carcinogenesis and other diseases and also the possibility of a betterunderstanding of the world of biology in its globality.
Key words:
biochip, microarray, molecular biology.
