Case Report
Overview
Two cases of Chlamydia pneumoniae pneumonia are described. The first case is a primary infection in a young woman with mild course of the disease. The second case is a re-infection in an older woman with a modified clinical picture of pneumonia because of concomitant diseases. At present, there is no “gold standard” for the diagnosis of Chlamydia pneumoniae pneumonia. The diagnosis is based on the results of serology. Quinolones and macrolides are useful in the treatment.
