Prediction of GFR based on the MDRD (Modification of Diet in Renal Disease) equation isconsidered to be more exact than hitherto applied formulas. GFR calculations according toMDRD require effective electronic communication between the clinical facility and the laboratory.However, that condition cannot always be met. For that reason there has been elaborateda table that enables one to find the respective exponential values for age, serum concentrationof creatinine (Scr), urea (Surea) and albumin (Salb). The product of thus found values facilitatesa rapid calculation of the CFR without any need of a computer.
