Overview
Diabetes mellitus is a civilizational, chronic, metabolic, non-communicable, incurable and serious disease with economic, psychological, social, societal and health consequences. Despite comprehensive care, it is still one of the main causes of amputation of the lower limbs, the development of organ-specific degenerative processes, practical or complete blindness, renal failure, but also morbidity from cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases. In addition to pain and suffering, the social consequences of diabetes mellitus, acute, chronic and organ- specific complications also affect the daily lives of diabetics.
