Overview
Authors present a case of 18-years old Vietnamese girl who was admitted to the Pediatric Department of the Thomayer Teaching Hospital for long lasting cough. The principal diagnosis was finally set down as HIV positivity.
Authors are drawing attention to the possibility of the occurrence of this diagnosis in our country. Henceforth, it seems necessary to include that diagnosis in larger differential diagnostic considerations. In pediatrics we can see children infected vertically by their mothers, exceptionally horizontally infected by blood derivatives or adolescents infected during intravenous drug abuse or sexual intercourse.

AIDS, HIV, pneumonia
