Overview
Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction is a common problem and its treatment is difficult. Disease modifying drugs for heart failure with reduced ejection fraction have not been effective in subjects with preserved ejection fraction. Treatment of ischaemic heart disease, arterial hypertension and rhythm and rate control in atrial fibrillation are the recommended therapeutic principles in this patient population. The research of pharmacotherapy focuses on new pathophysiologic pathways.
