Overview
A review paper presents current knowledge on dysthymia, a milder chronic form of depression. It summarizes the clinical picture and etiology of the disorder. In a pharmacotherapeutic part, it describes recommended drugs for the management of dysthymia including moclobemide, amisulpride, imipramine, sertraline, paroxetine, fluoxetine, escitalopram, bupropion, and venlafaxine. The review is supplemented by a short overview of psychotherapeutic possibilities.
