Structured AbstractImmune mediated defense against pathogenic microorganisms and maintenance of immune toleranceto allogeneic antigens of sperm and fetus are main function of female reproductive tractmucosal immune system. Specific mechanisms concerning development of mucosal vaccines tosexually transmitted diseases and the immune regulation of fertility are reviewed in this article.
