Differential diagnosis of hyponatraemia

Overview

Hyponatraemia is common in clinical practice. This article summarises the principal mechanisms of natremia regulation and causes of decreased sodium level. The dia­gnostic approach in patients with hyponatraemia is discussed and basic principles of its treatment are summarised.
