Overview
The authors present an account of the experience of a Czech physician who ensured medicalcare of Czech citizens in Iran in 1992-1997 in different places where Czech firms and organi-sations worked. They draw attention to new situations and problems of medical care associated with the generaldeterioration of the ecological and working environment, the increased risk of transmission ofinfectious diseases due to rapid changes of places work made possible by cheap and readilyavailable air transport, and the increase of injuries, in particular transport injuries. The authors draw attention to the mistake of abolition of regulations and instructions whichmade it the duty of all organisations and individuals to ensure examinations of delegatedsubjects in special departments before a trip and after return from risk areas. The increasingnumber of imported exotic diseases, incl. malaria and TB, is a reason why to adopt as soon aspossible legal measures, i.e. amendments of previous regulations and rules. It will serve theprotection of these workers and the population in general.
