The author presents data on 4 prospective studies with statins, elevating also elderly patientswith ischaemic heart disease (IHD). It was revealed that statin treatment leads to a reductionof coronary attacks in elderly patients with IHD and reduces also the incidence of ischaemiccerebrovascular attacks.
