Technology assessment is an essential prerequisite of its rational use. It is one of the basic wayshow to control technology, its introduction and use. It is used worldwide since the mid-eightieswhen a global drop of the effectiveness of economy occurred as well as the first serious conflictbetween demands on health technology and available financial funds. Technology assessmentis a very wide field: within its framework attention is paid not only to technical implementation,clinical safety and effectivenes, financial costs and associated indicators suitable conditions forintroduction and the use of technology but also to social, legal, ethical, and political effects.
