The authors report the case of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, which was preceded, more than4 months, by severe transient pancytopenia with sepsis and followed by spontaneous bloodcount recovery. They draw attention to the importance of diagnostic examination to revealpreleukemic phase of ALL (pre-ALL), mainly the results of bone marrow trephines, not only inchildren but also in adult leukemia.
