Overview
New recommendations (guidelines) for cardiopulmonary resuscitation of October 2015 in the part concerning newborns [1] after many years of providing new attitudes and opinions, which can be summarized as fears of excessive resuscitation activity, and specifically the unnecessary use of oxygen during resuscitation of newborns in the delivery room.[1]. These recommendations precedes critical views on the importance of classical evaluation of the newborn by Virginia Apgar [2].
