The aim of this study was to map out the situation onthe field of children’s and youth oral health care, with a special contrast on prevention. Thestudy was carried out in the years 1998 and 1999. Both parts of the study were incorporatedinto health education hours. Private dentists, so called „school dentists“ provide basic dentalcare for Basic school children. The dmf and (DMF) values for deciduous and permanent teethweren’t higher than the values found out in the monitoring of the year 1994 and 1997respectively.
