Quality of life may be conceived as an individual’s general satisfaction with life and general senseof wellbeing. Health related quality of life (HRQoL) is directly related to an individual’s sense ofhealth and health care. In this case the quality of life becomes a relevant measure of efficacy ofmedical treatment. The four major domains include physical status and functional abilities, psychological status and wellbeing, social interactions and economic or vocational status and factors.Quality of life is mostly evaluated by selfssessment questionnaires of well-being related to thesubject’s health. Using a self-assessment approach, unbiased by health care professionals, subjective insight of a patients is ensured.
