Overview
This article contains new aspects of obesity as a disease and an insight into physical activity in treating obesity. Currently, obesity is the most frequent metabolic disease (9) and it is important to search for a common, effective application for its prevention and treatment. Ideally, for a well conceived prevention and treatment of obesity to be effective, it should function on many levels simultaneously (i.e. families, schools, legislative bodies etc.). However, many of these groups will firstly have to be persuaded to take an active part in solving this issue. Physiotherapists form a large group, which can operate in all the above stated levels.
