The paper presents the data on numbers of occupational diseases caused by chemical substances notified in the Czech Republicbetween 1996 and 2002 (including numbers of notified suspected occupational diseases). Presented data are one of the factorsrelevant to decision-making on the extent of the syllabus on particular industrial intoxications taught at medical faculties and theresources to be provided to the research and prevention of industrial intoxications.
