Neuroendoscopy is the youngest branch of neurosurgery and is based on a minimal invasiveapproach in the surgical intervention. It has already gained a recognized position in moderntherapy of expansive affections of the liquor enclosures in the head, namely hydrocephalus andarachnoidal cysts. Its range has extended also to affections of the brain proper such ashemorrhage, tumors and trauma. The author gained such personal experience in a series of 200patients operated on without any loss of life or any serious complications. The results obtainedhave contributed to technical and theoretical progress of endoscopic neurosurgery in the CzechRepublic.
