The author submits the case-report of an ambulatory patient who addressed her on account of dyspeptic complaints. The anamnestic discussion revealed marked depressive symptomatology which was subsequently confirmed objectively. After successful combined pharmacological treatment with fluoxetine and supportive dynamically oriented psychotherapy the digestive complaints as well as the emotional state of the patient improved.
