Overview
Practical attempt to solve tne problems connected with miction disoiders, caused by paralysis of control or effector structures taking part in the process of controlling urine accumulation and excretion, was presented in the study. On the basis of neurophysiological premises a prototype electronic appliance was designed and constructed. In the appliance the pressure of urine on the walls of bladder acts as a stimulus to bladder control reflex. The parameters Of the given pressure and urine outflow are controlled by a pressure sensor and an electromagnetic valve. An electronic systém controis the valve and optimises between the value given by a doctor and current sensor indication. Volumetric urine parameters generate sound signals, making the patient aware of the degree of bladder fillíng, and enable additional conditioning of sphincter and destrusor reflex ín regenerating (after injury) spinal cord. The appliance, apart from hygienic and practical virtues, enables much more effective rehabilitation exercises, aimed at regaining the miction control and far more quicker process of reflex conditioning.
