The patient is educated by a dietetic professional, with regularly updated education. The relevant formulas and caloric contents of reduction diets are given by the relevant authorities as discussed in the text of the article. The latest updates of the medical nutritional treatment of obesity, as indicated by the latest recommendations of the European Association for the Study of Obesity (EASO), are presented.
